Any advice or suggestions on the best hard covers for a 5' bed. I have a 2012 magnetic grey 4wd TRD Sport and would like to add a hard cover to the bed that can be secured and will keep items in bed dry. Would really like some honest first hand experience input. I know nothing about these things and have done some research on the internet.

How does it lock, and where is the locking mechanism?

- Cover King Seat Covers, WeatherTech Liners, PopNLock, storage bin locks, N-Fab Step bars, and G4 Elite Tonneau cover.
I have a Fold A Cover G4 that has 2 locks, one in the front and one in the back, you can open the front most flap or the rear most flap or fold the entire thing up and with a Pop and Lock you can secure your bed pretty well. I've had mine 2 years so far and I'm pretty happy with it. I have a friend with the Bak Flip and he really likes it.

- husky liners, undercover tonneau, ome 885's, 2" aal, 265/75/16 duratracs.
I just installed a undercover today after researching for about a month.http://undercoverinfo.com/new_classic.php
http://www.autoanything.com/tonneau-covers/61A1608A0A0.aspx
(call or live chat I was able to get $40 off the shipping charge)I wanted a relatively secure cover that was water resistant without the weight or cost of a fiberglass cover.
Also the weight of the undercover makes it possible to remove by one person.
The cover hangs over the tailgate making it impossible to open the tailgate (no pop n lock) without serious damage to truck and cover.
Very happy with the fit and finish took about 1 hour to get everything installed and lined up perfect.

You can also look into pace Edwards. I am currently running one and they have lots of options. Even one that locks the tailgate automatically. Here's mine.

look into roll n lock. I took mine off my 05 and put it on the new truck. Its built well enough for me to stand on, I don't know if that's recommended, but it works, it locks and does what I need it to do.

I just bought an '07 that had the Undercover already on it. Seems to be very well made and fits great.

I've decided on getting a roll-n-lock installed in a few weeks which I think runs 1,100 for the unit and $170 for the install which I heard can take an afternoon with retractable tonneaus. Its worth the money for me to make sure it is done right.Part of the kit includes a mechanism which attaches to the top of the tailgate so you cant open the tailgate without releasing the key on the roll-n-lock latch.
