Manchester City have reached a verbal agreement with Wolvesover a 55m euros (£47.3m) deal to sign Matheus Nunes.

The deal has not been formally agreed yet but, if completed, there will be no add-ons.

In addition, Wolves have agreed to sign City’s Under-21international Tommy Doyle on loan, with the option of a £5m transfer that wouldinclude a huge sell-on.

The good thing for Rangers is they’ve been there before last season againstPSV Eindhoven, and it’s the same scenario after a draw in the first leg.

So [Rangers] have a very good chance. Technically [Eindhoven] were verygood in the first game but who cares about technical in a cup game when it’s a knockout? It’s about getting through.

Certainly Michael Beale is in what could be the most important week of hiscareer at Rangers.

Another summer signing that has impressed our readers is Aston Villa's Moussa Diaby, who joined from Bayer Leverkusen in July in a deal worth a reported 60m euros (£51.9m)...

Michael Beale takes his Rangers team into their decisive Champions League play-off with PSV Eindhoven believing they are "due a big performance".

The Ibrox side were held 2-2 last week and will look to emulate the 1-0 win in the Philips Stadion that earned them a place in last year's group stages.

The Dutch are widely considered favourites on Wednesday, as they were in 2022, but Beale expects a tight and tense tie in a boisterous atmosphere.

  8. Post update

We will keep adding your responses about the summer's best transfers and the PFA's team of the year, but we will now also take a look at what promises to be a huge night for Rangers at PSV Eindhoven.

Can Michael Beale's side build on their 2-2 draw at Ibrox in the first leg and make it into the Champions League group stages?

I have been told talks are taking place with a couple of clubs about Arsenal defender Rob Holding.

La Liga pair Sevilla and Real Mallorca have both been linked with Holding in recent days as have newly-promoted Premier League outfit Luton.

Nothing has been decided yet but, after seven years, it seems as though Holding might be moving on.

Cole: Best summer signing, for me, has got to be James Maddison > Spurs. Fits Ange's system perfectly and slots into a team that has been crying out for a creative midfielder since Eriksen departed - and only at £40 million. With the money in the game today that's a steal.

Simon: Re: Andy 11:47 BST, unsurprisingly, most of the "best signings" are players who have been playing in the PL for a few years so hit the ground running (see also Lerma). Harder to judge young players from abroad signed for massive fees. Jury still out on Mudryk.

  13. Post update

Judging by the earlier responses from Tottenham supporters, they are already pretty happy with the club's summer transfer dealings, especially the arrival of James Maddison.

We asked you for your views on the summer's best transfers so far, Maddison and Liverpool's Dominik Szoboszlai have earned the most plaudits. Here is a selection of your responses...
